We rely on over 150 volunteers who help bring Preston Park to life.

There are many different roles to get involved in from public engagement to gardening and researching objects within our collection.

You don't need any experience, just lots of enthusiasm.

How do I become a volunteer?

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our online form.

Apply to be a volunteer at Preston Park

Once we receive your expression of interest, we'll get in touch to arrange for you to visit us for a volunteer induction.

What to expect at a volunteer induction

Once you express an interest, our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to arrange a date for your induction.

Inductions are held monthly at Preston Park and last about 2 hours. 

It is a friendly, informal session where you will:

  • meet the Preston Park team
  • connect with other volunteers
  • learn about volunteering opportunities
  • ask any questions

Next steps

If you decide a volunteering role is right for you, you will:

  • be asked to complete a volunteer form
  • attend a follow-up session to get to know the team better
  • complete any training
  • receive any equipment and uniform needed for the role
