La Voix at Preston Park Museum

'Becoming La Voix', invites visitors to immerse themselves in the life and career of the singer, performer and entertainer whose unmistakable wit, vocals and glamour have captivated audiences across the UK and worldwide.

The museum is proudly showcasing an array of La Voix's most iconic costumes, accessories, photographs and treasured personal memorabilia—each piece generously loaned by La Voix herself. Together, they offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at the artistry, creativity and craftsmanship that have shaped her celebrated career.

Highlights include instantly recognisable outfits from Strictly Come Dancing, RuPaul's Drag Race, and Britain's Got Talent, allowing fans to see up close the costumes that helped shape some of her most unforgettable performances.

Alongside the exhibition, families can also enjoy a vibrant programme of half term activities packed with sparkle, creativity and term activities packed with sparkle, creativity and hands‑on fun.

'Becoming La Voix' is more than a display of sequins and showstoppers. It celebrates themes of individuality, resilience and joy—reflecting the warmth, humour and charisma that have made La Voix a much‑loved figure among audiences of all ages.

Born and raised in Stockton, La Voix attended Butts Lane Primary School and later Egglescliffe School, making this exhibition a true homecoming tribute.

La Voix, said:

Preston Park Museum means more than I can put into words. I grew up down the road, and like so many local children, Preston Park was part of the landscape of my childhood. I used to love every visit to the museum wandering through the exhibitions, exploring and dreaming of other worlds. I could never have imagined back then that one day my life work would be celebrated within these walls, it's a real pinch me moment.

I have had the honour to do some amazing things in my career from launching a cruise ship to performing for the Royal Family but I am deeply touched that the museum think I am worthy to be one of their exhibitions and I hope that everyone who visits feel the same magic within the museum that I did over 30 years ago when I used to visit.

Councillor Paul Rowling, Deputy Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said:

La Voix's rise from a local Stockton performer to an internationally recognised artist is a remarkable story of determination, individuality and talent. We are proud to celebrate someone who began their journey right here in our community. It is our hope that this exhibition encourages others to believe in their own potential and follow their dreams.

'Becoming La Voix' is a joyful celebration of colour, character and charisma, and a fantastic addition to The Spence Building — our new exhibition space at Preston Park Museum. Fresh from her triumphant homecoming performance at Stockton Globe last October, this exhibition offers another wonderful opportunity for audiences to celebrate her achievements and discover more about the remarkable artist behind the glitter and glamour.
