Events and Activities Volunteer

Help support the museum at its busiest times

If you are someone who would like to support the museum but can’t commit to regular volunteering, or don’t fancy working in just one area, then the Events and Activities Volunteer role could be for you. From stewarding events, to helping with exhibition launches and delivering school ‘hands-on’ sessions, this is a varied and important role.

What is involved?

Welcome visitors – help with wayfinding around the museum during special events and exhibitions
Support museum staff in ensuring security of spaces, as well as checking museum tickets for events/ exhibitions
Prep materials for activities – tasks could include cutting, painting or helping to set up a space for a workshop
Research topics for exhibition/ activity ideas
Cash handling in small pop-up retail spaces (selling tea/coffee at events)
