We’re offering grants to support local groups and organisations in rehoming or reusing objects that have been selected for disposal from Preston Park Museum & Grounds.
This is part of our National Lottery Heritage Funded Dynamic Collections Project, and we’re excited to see these objects find new life in the community.
What’s available?
Grants of up to £500 are available
Larger grants (up to £1,500) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from:
- Community groups
- Educational institutions
- Parish and Town Councils
- Volunteer organisations
- Businesses
- Individuals (including artists and heritage asset owners)
Please note: All groups (except individuals) must have a written constitution or similar document confirming their formal status.
What can the grant be used for?
Here are some examples of how the funding could support your project:
- Transporting objects from the museum to your site
- Improving storage conditions for the object
- Purchasing supplies for a project involving the object
Promoting an event where the object will be used or displayed
Keeping Objects in the Public Domain
To be eligible, the object must remain accessible to the public—either permanently or in specific circumstances (e.g. by appointment or during special exhibitions). Access must not be restricted.
Funding priorities
To qualify, your project must ensure that the object remains in the public domain.
As a bonus, it will:
- Foster community engagement and participation
- Create opportunities for volunteering
