Are you passionate about gardening and the outdoors?
If so, this could be the perfect role for you! Our volunteers work as part of the Gardening team, in the Walled Garden, Winter Garden and green areas of the museum. You will help ensure the gardens are well maintained, as well as growing fresh produce and cut flowers for our visitors to enjoy.
What is involved?
- Pruning, seeding, planting and weeding
- Engage with visitors, by answering questions about plants, as well as offering gardening tips
- Help grow a variety of fresh produce and cut flowers, which are used and sold within the museum
- Support members of the Gardening team in seasonal tasks, to maintain and create new horticultural beds
- Encourage more wildlife into the museum’s green spaces, such as bees, butterflies and birds
- Help with family learning and school group activities in the garden, such as bird box making and seed planting
