If you're seeking adventure, a peaceful stroll, or family fun, Preston Park has something for everyone. From thrilling skate sessions to scenic woodland walks, it's the perfect place to explore, unwind, and connect with nature.

Please keep dogs on short leads in busy areas and the Quarry Woods Nature Reserve. Dogs are not permitted in the adventure play area, skate park, museum, or gardens.

Adventure play area

Let the kids run wild in our exciting adventure play park! With a tree-top climbing frame, giant swing, and a sandy play zone, there's something for every age. With plenty of seating available, parents can relax while the little ones play.

Skate park

Whether you're riding or watching, our skate park is a thrill! With three zones featuring:

bowls
jumps
rails
ramps

It's perfect for skaters and BMX riders of all levels.

Woodland and River walks

Stroll through peaceful woodland trails and along the river Tees, where a reclaimed Victorian quarry is swarmed with wildlife. Spot birds, deer, and more in this natural haven.

Stockton & Darlington Railway

Preston Park sits along the historic route of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the world's first passenger railway, which opened in 1825. Today, you can still trace part of the original track bed which is now a peaceful woodland path running parallel to Yarm Road.

Butterfly World

Step into a lush rainforest filled with hundreds of butterflies at Butterfly World, right here in the park. It's a magical experience for all ages.

Teesside Small Gauge Railway

Hop aboard the Teesside Small Gauge Railway, a miniature train run by passionate volunteers on select days.
