Remains of the original track bed of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, which opened in 1825, run along the tree-line of Preston Park (parallel to Yarm Road). There is a footpath which follows the route, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll. Whilst the original track has long since disappeared, if you look very closely, you can still make out mounds of earth which would have been the original track bed.
