Our talented Victorian Street volunteer, James, wrote us a special poem for our 70-year anniversary. He’s been volunteering with us for 5 years and says it’s the perfect role for him as he loves acting and dressing up in Victorian costumes. He can usually be found in the chemist shop or sweet shop and always has a smile for every visitor he sees.
James’ poem
70 years today. That’s a massive achievement most people would say.
You can take a walk round the park. Whilst walking you may hear a dog bark.
Take a look round the old fashioned street.
Call in the sweet shop if you fancy a treat.
You can call in the museum if you want even more thrills.
Or call in the chemist where you can see a demonstration of how they made pills.
Even when in the museum you may even find things from the past.
Whenever you visit you’re sure to have a blast.
