By The North Yorkshire Calligraphers.
Explore the beautiful work of the North Yorkshire Calligraphers as they present an exhibition based on the vibrant theme of colour. Expect a multicoloured feast for the eyes and see how each calligrapher has responded to the theme in a different way, using their own vivid techniques. There will be chance for little ones to explore our colourful theme and have fun with playful interactives.
Calligraphy is the art of forming beautiful letters, writing and symbols. Calligraphers use pens with round, flat and pointed nibs or brushes to create their art work. It is a practice that is thousands of years old.
Today, calligraphy is considered an art. Many people study it and use ancient skills and traditions adapted to more modern techniques to create something beautiful. They continue a tradition that is an important part of our civilization.
