Dive into Durham’s past with Gary Bankhead and discover the story of the Durham River Wear Assemblage. The collection totals some 13,000 ordinary and extraordinary objects, including spoons, thimbles, keys, dice, toys, buckles, rings, ear wax scoops and pilgrim souvenirs! These typically small metal objects, from the late- and post-medieval periods, are challenging the way in which we understand Durham’s past.
