Join us for a summer of hands-on fun as we celebrate 200 years of railway history with a series of free, family-friendly craft days inspired by the Stockton & Darlington Railway (S&DR)! Each session explores a different theme through creative activities, storytelling, and real railway artefacts from our handling collection.
Wednesday 13 August – S&DR and Station Gardens
Celebrate summer and nature on the railway line!
- Add your blooms to our paper station garden
- Make lollipop flowers and take home free seeds
- Discover how the railway shaped the natural world
Wednesday 27 August – S&DR Community Railway Line
All aboard for a celebration of community and memory!
- Build your own miniature locomotive
- Add to our collaborative community railway map
- Share your railway memories in our story project
Do I need to book?
There’s no need to book, just turn up on the day. The event is on at Preston Park Museum from 10am – 3.30pm.
