Little Inventors challenges you to invent something fun, clever or unusual that can travel on or make use of disused rail tracks. You are invited to take part in a two hour workshop at Preston Park Museum on Saturday 8 March.
The challenge is in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the first journey on the Stockton and Darlington Railway (S&DR), parts of which used to run through the grounds of Preston Park. The world is covered with abandoned and disused train tracks -in the UK alone there are 4000 miles of disused train tracks, many of which have become footpaths for walkers and cyclists.
What to expect:
- During the two hour workshop, you will discover more about the Stockton & Darlington Railway 200 Project
- Come up with new and innovative ideas for the many miles of disused rail tracks around the world
- Make a prototype model of your invention with the Little Inventors cardboard making expert
